This documentary film follows Brittney Kaiser, the former business development director of Cambridge Analytica, a British political consulting firm. The movie tells her story as she exposes how Cambridge Analytica seemingly misused data gathered from Facebook to influence the U.S presidential election in 2016. Brittany believes that people were unknowingly manipulated, and wants to expose what she sees as many shameful secrets related to working on this project.
Despite the temptation to believe otherwise, Jesus says that, “I am responsible for what I see. I choose the feelings that I experience and I decide upon the goal I would achieve. And everything that seems to happen to me, I ask for, and receive as I have asked.” (ACIM, T-21.II.2:3-5) Manipulation only seems to occur because the world we perceive and the emotions we feel are so closely related in awareness.
However, if we go deeper in the mind, through the thoughts that are causing those emotions, and the beliefs that are causing those thoughts, we arrive at our desire. We can choose what we desire, and if all our beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and the world we perceive stems from that choice, manipulation is impossible. If our single desire is for peace, we will experience peace. If we have other desires, we will experience conflict. In reality, the only rights that we have are the ones we were given by God. We were given the law of love, and any concerns about data privacy, personal privacy, or attempts to change the world are simply reinforcing a self-concept and block the light from awareness. The motives of the world always have to do with making a better self, which is a denial of the Christ Self. Why not devote our attention, our desire, our heart, to forgiveness, to awakening? By giving our heart, our single desire, fully over to this purpose, any thoughts of manipulation, guilt, or needing to change the world will be handed over to Spirit and healed.
