Ambition leads to folly and pain. At any moment we can make the decision to rest from worldly goals and experience the simplicity of the present moment. All attempts to increase status, wealth, or security lead to demise, whereas the Spirit simply flows in the moment. Symbolically, in this movie, the rest and joy of a simple life in the country is given up for the possibility of power in the city. Jealousy spawns deception and ends in death. This is an extreme example of childhood trauma and shows that all of the ego’s stories are the same no matter what time or location they seem to take place in. Spirit’s plan is here now when we recognize that the script of the world cannot be changed. Why not rest, relax, and enjoy, and see that our kingdom is not of this world.
