Adventure and spontaneous encounters can be a path to awakening. A young man named Chris turns from society in an attempt to find the truth. In his quest he encounters many friends that help loosen him from his fixed ideas of himself and the world. The willingness to be truly helpful opens the heart and leads to joining. The search for clarity can seem to lead down many paths, and into many places, but eventually it must be seen that awakening is a completely inward endeavor and not an escape from the world. "A Course in Miracles" tells us that all the roads of the world “but lead to disappointment, nothingness and death ... Men have died on seeing this ... and yet this was the time they could have learned their greatest lesson.” (T-31.IV) Forgiveness of the misperceptions held about our brothers and sisters leads to the realization that we are all in this together. Joy and certainty come from inclusion in the inward journey. This is the value of mighty companions.
