This is a magnificent film about the purity of heart that will take you all the way home. Chance has lived a sheltered life, growing up and working as a gardener within the walls of his wealthy caretaker’s home. Having never been outside the walls of the house, Chance is asked to leave when the caretaker dies, venturing into the world for the first time as a middle-aged man. With innocence leading the way, he is led through a set of holy encounters that carry him gently to his next step.
In what are often hilarious moments, Chance’s innocence and purity keep him safe—he is truly clueless and cared for. He is completely taken care of by the Spirit, in his desire for nothing and his full acceptance of what is. He speaks plainly, using gardening analogies, and soon those around him completely fall in love with his no-nonsense way of looking at the world. He lives in a state of non-judgment, watching the world as a child does, with innocence and wonder. This delightful film will fill your heart with joy and laughter.
