Compromise at any level is a killer of present moment awareness. With this world being created as a trap, compromise is then a trap within a trap. The very moment we compromise, we imprison ourselves in a concrete mold of limitation. No wonder it’s hard to function in the world. If you want to wake up, and you are going for eternity, you are going for the highest of highs, then you need to go deep, and you need to have reflections of that depth. You need to surround yourself with symbols of encouragement. For those people who want to keep their lives in the status quo and read the book and go to an A Course in Miracles group once a week, then that is fine. That is how much they are ready for. Then at some point, it may be after 10 or 15 years, they might realize that there must be something more than reading a paragraph in this book, and talking about who has cancer, and when should I retire —all the minutia of the world.
That is what spiritual community is. It was given from the Spirit for you to wake up. It is not a question of luck. It is your mind pulling forth the witnesses. It isn’t a question of luck at all.
