SearchAre you teaching something different than the so called "master teacher"? Isn't the copyright putting a limit on finding things?
Question:
After reading your latest post on "master teacher", I once again find myself stuck. When I hear "master teacher" teach, I hear the same thing that you teach. So do you teach something different from the "master teacher," or is there no difference? It sounds to me as if words are the only problem. Also, in regards to the "lawsuit"—with ACIM being "copyrighted"—that puts a limit to the number of people who might be able to come across these Thoughts of God for the first time. Please help me undo the error in my mind.
Answer:
Thanks for writing and for your willingness to expose and release error and accept the Atonement. In the world of distorted perception there appear to be teachers and students, distinct from each other, and separated by time and space. This distorted perception WAS the error, and the error HAS BEEN Corrected via the Holy Spirit. To align with the Holy Spirit is to be right-minded. Right-mindedness is a detached, impersonal, nonjudgmental Perspective (above the battleground) that reflects the statement in the Bible: "God is no respecter of persons." The Holy Spirit's Perspective has no relation to—and no meeting point with—the personal perspective of the ego, for the miracle is the alternative to the ego's distorted lens. Teaching/learning is in the realm of thought, not a personal activity, and the mind teaches/learns every moment based on what it thinks. Every thought either extends the truth or multiplies illusions. Thoughts of God are real, and thoughts of the ego are unreal. The Holy Spirit is capable of discerning the real from the unreal. Discernment is the goal of all commitment, discipline, and mind training. When I am aligned with the Holy Spirit, I am only capable of offering thoughts and words of discernment, and what I teach I learn (meaning I reinforce it and keep it in awareness). That is how the mind works, for to teach is to demonstrate. It is written in ACIM:
"We said before that the Holy Spirit is evaluative, and must be. He sorts out the true from the false in your mind, and teaches you to judge every thought you allow to enter it in the light of what God put there. Whatever is in accord with this light He retains, to strengthen the Kingdom in you. What is partly in accord with it He accepts and purifies. But what is out of accord entirely He rejects by judging against. This is how He keeps the Kingdom perfectly consistent and perfectly unified." (T-6.V.C.1)
I will always encourage the release of all personal thoughts and concepts, including the concept of a "master teacher" in form. In ACIM, Jesus says "forgive me your illusions,” and this instruction I echo now. It means overlook the flesh and accept the Spirit as our Reality. As Christ says in ACIM:
"You see the flesh or recognize the spirit. There is no compromise between the two. If one is real the other must be false, for what is real denies its opposite. There is no choice in vision but this one. What you decide in this determines all you see and think is real and hold as true. On this one choice does all your world depend, for here have you established what you are, as flesh or spirit in your own belief." (T-31.VI.1)
Comparison must be an ego device, for love makes none. Comparison is an attempt to judge between illusions of form. Discernment between right-mindedness (the Holy Spirit's Perspective) and wrong-mindedness (the ego's perspective) is a distinction between purposes in the split mind. I am unable to compare persons, which are illusions of form, but all my messages convey the helpfulness of right-mindedness and the unhelpfulness of wrong-mindedness. Each perspective is a decision, and I demonstrate that right-mindedness is valuable and wrong- mindedness is valueless. For when the ego is raised to awareness, exposed as a death wish, and released, the ego (or error) is undone and meaningless. While the ego seems to be believed as real it still seems to be attractive and to offer something. I dispel the ego by demonstrating that it has no value or attraction.
My recent post titled "What distinguishes an authentic spiritual path from that of a cult?" is an example of demonstrating discernment. In the post I expose "cult thinking" as ego thinking and contrast it with forgiveness/non-judgment. Cult thinking and distorted perception and wrong-mindedness are synonymous, just as forgiveness and non-judgment and right-mindedness are synonymous. The entire world perceived through the ego's lens is a cult. Yet the ego would attempt to label, classify, and judge certain persons and groups positively or negatively. In right-mindedness none of these ego labels, classifications, and judgments have any meaning whatsoever. From this you can perhaps glimpse that I have no opinion, positive or negative, on the person called "master teacher" or the group called "the association." I am able to offer discernment about ideas and questions and ponderings that rise into consciousness, and I will make no attempt to deviate from the Purpose I share with the Holy Spirit. With these words I convey, in the simplest way possible, that I will not overestimate or underestimate my function of forgiveness.
I am grateful for all expressions of God's Love, of Oneness, of the Singularity of Mind. I see everyone and everything from the Perspective of wholeness. Awakening is based on seeing no order of difficulty in miracles and no hierarchy of illusions. Transformation of mind through miracles depends on making no exceptions, as the ACIM WorkBook emphasizes. When asked, invited, and Guided by the Holy Spirit, I am happy to offer and demonstrate that Divine Principle has no exceptions. In this way I simply see the false as false, and teach, learn, and remind of the right-minded Perspective of the Holy Spirit. If you look through the writings I share you will find many, many examples of this approach in action, so to speak. It is my function to forgive, or overlook illusion. It is my peace, joy, happiness, and freedom. It is "Selfish" in the Christ and Oneness meaning of the Word. It is the means and end of Being Awake.
You wrote: "...it sounds to me as if words are the problem." Words are but symbols of symbols, twice removed from Reality. Words are neutral. The Holy Spirit's use of words is always helpful, and the ego's use of words is never helpful. It always comes back to discernment of the two purposes/perspectives of the split mind. The Holy Spirit only uses words to expose the ego and point to the true meaning of forgiveness. The ego only uses words to reinforce specialness, exclusivity, confusion, conflict, and complexity. The problem is always the ego's purpose, and the solution is always the Holy Spirit's Purpose. Purpose is the only choice that is truly meaningful to a mind asleep and dreaming. Let the Holy Spirit gently Guide in every seeming choice between illusions, for this is how you Awaken from the maze of time-space.
When you read or listen to or watch anything, let it be a lesson in discernment. Many of the materials you have recently used reflect the thoughts of forgiveness, Love, and Oneness. I am pointing out the fine points of discernment and the application of the Holy Spirit's Perspective to many, many seeming situations and questions. Please be open to the awareness that this is not a judgment or evaluation of persons, places, or things, yet it IS an exposure of the ego's purpose and defenses. The ego must be questioned and raised to awareness before it can be released. The unconscious mind is the unwatched mind, and it will seem to "dictate” misperceptions until it is brought to Light and dissolved. The undoing of the ego requires only willingness, and I am in contact with you because of your invitation. Awakening is inevitable, yet the time factor is under voluntary choice. We are looking very directly at the nuances and hidden aspects of the ego belief system. Try not to fall into the trap of comparing persons or paths, for judgment is the block to the awareness of Love's Presence.
Atonement is a decision that does not involve time or quantity or measurement. In ACIM, Christ is asked "How many teachers of God are needed to save the world?" Christ's Answer is “one.” If this seems impossible to understand, simply be willing to release all assumptions and beliefs about time and quantity. You wrote: "What I see in my mind is a group of people trying to make it easier to spread the word of ACIM." Where does this group begin and where does it end? Do you believe the Holy Spirit Perceives opposing "groups"? What could it mean to "spread the word of ACIM" when ACIM teaches "seek not to change the world ...rather change your mind about the world." Christ encourages a change of mind throughout ACIM and in the Bible. This is a shift into vertical Perception and does not involve a horizontal or linear "increase or change,” no matter how much it seems to be required by the deceived, sleeping mind. There is only one mind, with one problem and one solution.
You wrote: "With it being ‘copyrighted’, that puts a limit to the number of people who might be able to come across these Thoughts of God for the first time." The ONLY limit is looking through the ego's distorted lens. All things work together for good, and this is ONLY apparent from the Holy Spirit's Perspective of wholeness and the simultaneity of time. Forgive, release all concepts of the ego, and see that our one mind, aligned with the Holy Spirit, has no limits. You wrote: "I see this group of people making it easier for everyone to be able to come across ACIM, and to make it more able to be shared. For instance, look at how many websites have been shut down because of it. With the undoing of a "copyright", those websites could then share ACIM more freely and let the word of Love be easier accessible to other seekers out there." The opposite of a "group of people making it easier for everyone to be able to come across ACIM" would be a "group of people making it more difficult for everyone to be able to come across ACIM." Only wrong-mindedness can see these opposites or sides, for the ego wants your mind to see the "split" in the world or on the screen. Through projection, seeing the conflict and opposites in the world instead of in the mind, the ego "protects" itself from being exposed. The split is in the mind and is only healed in the mind. This seeming world of duality and opposites was made to hide the intolerable split in the mind that believed it had separated from its Source, God.
There are no "good people," or "bad people," or any "people" in forgiveness. There are no "good groups," or "bad groups," or any "groups" in wholeness. There are no "good teachers" or "bad teachers" or any "teachers" in the Holy Spirit's Perspective. You wrote: "I see ‘david’" and ‘master teacher’ as the same thing ..." See this sameness in illusions (ie., all persons, places, things, events, situations) and this is Enlightenment. But make no exceptions, for the Vision of Christ has no exceptions. If you allow the Holy Spirit to show you that illusions are one and have no "gap" of time or space between them, you will never feel "stuck" again. Atonement remedies the error, and the world is forgotten as Love returns to awareness. I rejoice with You in this Oneness Beloved One! There is only Love.
Thanks be to God for creating All as One in Spirit!
Love overflowing,
David
