Are there any meditation "processes" or "techniques" for releasing fear that you can share?

Question:
On my journey, I have been led toward Truth by specific processes that have helped. I read one of your teachings that pictured allowing thoughts during meditation to go by as if on a train, and to jump off the train if I found myself adhering to one. Are there any specific processes that you have used during meditation in releasing fear, or any other perception, that you would share?

Answer:
Thanks for writing. I used phrases and prayers from "A Course In Miracles" WorkBook and Text as "lead-ins" for many of my "meditations" and to release fear thoughts as they would arise in consciousness. I put together hundreds of music meditation tapes (ie., Enya, Yanni, Donna Marie Cary, Oman & Shanti, Adiemus, Susan McCullen, Maire Brennan, Jaci Velasquez, Iona, and literally thousands of other artists) and have played them, in the car, out on walks, etc. The "Search for Serenity" tape by Serenity Music with Rob Whitesides-Woo's soothing music and Leigh taylor Young's soothing voice of ACIM sayings always helped dissolve the fears and resistances immediately.

I can't even estimate how much music and poetry and art have been a reflection of God's Love in awareness. My consciousness has been flooded with these kinds of helpful symbols long before it finally came to Rest. I had used visualizations and words for many years, though it finally came to the point of just being still and not trying to think or do anything. This involves a state of readiness that cannot be forced or rushed. Everything else just got "used up" by the Holy Spirit, and the mirror of the mind was suddenly clean and clear.

Now it all seems to blend together into a hymn of gratitude to our Creator: a word, a song, the sound of an air conditioner, a train sounding its horn, a chainsaw, the purr of the cat, and the Silence beneath the sights and sounds of the world. All Glory to God for the Melody of Love that never ends!

Here is a prayer from ACIM for You Beloved One:

"Father, we do not know the way to You. But we have called, and You have answered us. We will not interfere. Salvation's ways are not our own, for they belong to You. And it is unto You we look for them. Our hands are open to receive Your gifts. We have no thoughts we think apart from You, and cherish no beliefs of what we are, or Who created us. Yours is the way that we would find and follow. And we ask but that Your Will, which is our own as well, be done in us and in the world, that it become a part of Heaven now. Amen." (W- 189.10)

And here are some words of encouragement on accepting forgiveness:

"Forgiveness offers everything I want.

What could you want that forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety, and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep, abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset?

All this forgiveness offers you, and more. It sparkles on your eyes as you awake, and gives you joy with which to meet the day. It soothes your forehead while you sleep, and rests upon your eyelids so you see no dreams of fear and evil, malice and attack. And when you wake again, it offers you another day of happiness and peace. All this forgiveness offers you, and more.

Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up that hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world. It lets you recognize the Son of God, and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind." (W-122.1)

Thank You Jesus.

Love always,
David
