SearchWhat is meant by the phrase in ACIM: "Free to save the world"?
Question:
In the Course there is a lesson that says, “Spirit am I, holy Son of God. Free of all limits, safe and healed and whole. Free to forgive and free to save the world.” What is meant by, "Free to save the world?"
Answer:
Thanks for writing and sharing your question. The mind which believed it could separate from God is in "need" of salvation from illusions. There is no world apart from the sleeping mind that dreamed it, and as that mind accepts the Atonement the world is forgiven or saved. Only the sleeping mind need be saved and it is saved only through peace. Complete forgiveness is accepting the Correction to the one error: the belief that separation from God was possible. Acceptance of the Correction brings Awakening from the dream of separation to the Reality of Eternal Spirit.
"Free to save the world" implies a decision that ends error. This is the aim or goal of A Course In Miracles and all Spirituality. Salvation thus takes the form of a decision, yet this decision requires transcending the ego belief system entirely. Such is Enlightenment. Such is Awakening in Christ.
Many Blessings of Love,
David
