SearchWhat is the meaning of the term "Christ"?
Question:
Forgive my ignorance, but since I was raised Jewish, I know little about Jesus Christ. I know who Jesus is, but I notice the word "Christ" seems to be used also as a generic term. Can you please explain to me exactly what "Christ" means or symbolizes or refers to?
Answer:
Christ is a word used to represent an abstract, pure Idea of Unconditional Love. Christ is the Beloved Creation of God, at One with God, in the Mind of God. Christ is Spirit, therefore Christ is neither male nor female. Jesus was a man who saw the Face of Christ in everyone, thus recognizing the Universal Nature of God's Love. Jesus Christ is thus a symbol of God's Eternal Love and a Loving Guide to the remembrance of God's Perfect Oneness. Use any symbols that you find comforting and helpful on the inner journey. All symbols but point to an experience that is not of this world. I am joined with you in the experience of Awakening to God's Love.
Love always,
David
