The ego's fear based plan of proving separation attempts to cover its tracks and stay hidden through diversion and deception. Carla and Lou meet on the street outside a loft only to find that they are waiting for the same guy, Blake, who has told each woman that he loves only her. This movie is a powerful example of the raw, direct exposure of the ego's tactics of diversions, defenses, denial and projection to avoid the truth of Love's presence.
True love does not possess and has nothing to hide. Yet in worldly personal relationships the desire to possess and control (desire to remain special and thus separate) remains unforgiven, for all such relationships are constructed by the ego. Along with the concept of personal (special) relationships comes envy, jealousy, rage, lust, guilt, shame, betrayal, rejection, abandonment, distrust, and a variety of forms of fear. These emotions arise from expectations for finding love through the ego's thoughts which are impossible to fulfill.
The ego's theme song of desperation is "I need you to love me to prove to me that I am loved." Spirit's theme song of Love is be still and know that "I am that I am." Ever-present Love is ready to show us the truth of who we are.
Glory be to God for our true Love relationship in Spirit!
