Romantic love or the idea of bodies in love, carries with it the tragedy of all illusions. No illusion is what it seems to be. In a world where love is seen to be exclusive and dependent on bodies being together, relationships end. In such madness, the crazy idea of union in death seems to be the only hope there is. Here is the absurdity of the world made most apparent. True union is no illusion, for it is Being in the Eternal One, God. Spiritual union lasts forever. What transitory, ephemeral, fleeting experience of the world of bodies can last? “Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.” (In-2) Herein lies true love.
