SearchAm I the Creator and is this world my creation?
Question:
Are we the Creator? As in “all there is and ever was?” Or is there the Creator who extended us, so we are an extension of what always is and ever was? I feel that my creation is influenced by others’ creations, which were themselves created by co-creators (the forms we see today). Please answer. I am very confused.
Answer:
Your question and pondering involve the key to Awakening from the dream of separation, for to believe that one is IN this world is the belief that one can create oneself (which in Truth is impossible). Yet this belief (that one can create oneself) is the unconscious belief that made the time-space cosmos as a hiding place to hide from God and escape from Love. In Truth the following words you shared point directly to the Reality of Heaven: "the Creator who always is and always was, and who extended us" refers to God, the Prime Creator. "We are an extension of what always is and ever was" refers to the Christ, Whom God creates forever perfect in Eternity. Yes it is true that Christ did not create God, for God created Christ and in this—and only this—meaning, God is "greater." As Jesus says in ACIM:
"'No man cometh unto the Father but by me' does not mean that I am in any way separate or different from you except in time, and time does not really exist. The statement is more meaningful in terms of a vertical rather than a horizontal axis. You stand below me and I stand below God. In the process of "rising up,” I am higher because without me the distance between God and man would be too great for you to encompass. I bridge the distance as an elder brother to you on the one hand, and as a Son of God on the other. My devotion to my brothers has placed me in charge of the Sonship, which I render complete because I share it. This may appear to contradict the statement "I and my Father are one,” but there are two parts to the statement in recognition that the Father is greater." (T-1.11.4)
Christ has creative ability and has creations, and just as God (as Spirit) creates Christ (as Spirit), the creations of Christ are Spirit as well. Creation, therefore, is a continuous line of creation or extension. The time-space cosmos of perception has nothing to do with creation, for creation is Eternal and time is temporary and incremental. Creation is infinite. Time-space is finite. The cosmos seemed to be made by the ego and is the projection of the belief in separation. Projection makes perception. Projection makes form.
The confusion and puzzlement you seem to experience is the "human condition" of confusing creation with form. You wrote: "...my creation is influenced by others’ creations, which were themselves created by co-creators (the forms we see today).” Co-creation is always of the Spirit and is in a continuous line of Spirit or extension. Co-creation never involves form, which always involves projection. Creation also never involves control, and Free Will refers to the State of Being Which is Spirit. Control and judgment are the same, for they are ego devices used to maintain the illusion of separation. Creation is literally beyond belief, for belief is an ego function. Yet complete forgiveness is the last “belief," for it leads out of belief entirely to the remembrance of creation (Knowing God). Belief in God is unnecessary, for God can only be Known. As belief is questioned, exposed, and undone, the mind is cleared of the debris of judgment and opened to the experience of Knowing Self as Christ and knowing God.
The ego is the belief that it is possible to make a self or world apart from God or Spirit. The ego is the illusory attempt to create a self or world unlike God or Spirit, and the attempt to usurp God as the author of reality. Atonement is the recognition that this attempt is impossible, for Mind cannot create beyond ItSelf. Miscreation or projection is therefore impossible, and form and perception are therefore meaningless. Who One is (Spirit), as God created One Self (Spirit), IS the Meaning of Life. The perceptual world can only be forgiven or released, therefore, so creation (Spirit) may be remembered. The Memory of Heaven remains, though it seems to have been pushed from awareness and forgotten by believing in the ego. The Spirit creates and the ego makes, yet Atonement shows that creation is Reality, and the ego’s belief in separation from God has NOT occurred. Such is healing. Such is Enlightenment.
Fear arises from the belief that one can author oneself. Peace is natural to the One that Knows God is the Author of One Self. I and the Father are One (in Spirit) and this is Known in Heaven. The personality self was an insane attempt to deny this simple Fact by making an "opposite" to Eternal Love. Yet Love is All there is and has no "opposite." This experience is the Joy of Awakening!
Peace and forgiveness go together, for such create the release of the illusion of a separate self. Forgiveness is the end of self deception. Abide in peace, for God is the Author of Reality—which is the Self as Christ—and nothing can change Eternal Love.
Peace and Blessings always,
David
