SearchCan the Holy Spirit change the script?
Question:
Hi David. Resta said: "As I was telling you, this song is a great example of how ‘the script is written’ and cannot be changed or rearranged in the slightest way." And I really resonate with her verse, BUT in your answer to another post a couple of days ago, when asked "Who wrote the script?" your answer was "The Ego wrote the script.” My question is: can the Holy Spirit change the script? Thanks.
Answer:
The Holy Spirit answered the unholy instant simultaneously, and thus was the belief in separation Corrected forever. Acceptance of the Correction is the sole responsibility now. "The script" is a linear metaphor for arranging and sequencing images or past memories, and this ordering or sequencing IS the ego. To the Holy Spirit time is simultaneous, and the simultaneity of time is another way of saying that all of the script happened or was spun at the same time: the unholy instant. The Holy Spirit is another way of looking at the world, a Way without judgment. The Holy Spirit does not work IN the world and thus the Holy Spirit does not change the script. The script is the past, written by—and one with—the ego, and it can no more be changed than the film in the projector that has already been completed and is already being shown in the theater. The purpose for the world can and must be shifted from the ego's purpose (death) to the Holy Spirit's Purpose (forgiveness). This is the only change that is meaningful in the context of Waking Up to Reality through forgiveness of illusion. And this is a change of mind from the changing (ego) to the changeless (Atonement). The Holy Spirit simply sees the false as false, and what is false is the belief in changing appearances.
In "A Course In Miracles" this idea is expressed in several ways, for there is a plan behind the images that does not change:
"Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world." (T-21.in.7)
"There is no freedom from what must occur. And if you think there is, you must be wrong." (T-30.I.15.5)
"The revelation that the Father and the Son are one will come in time to every mind. Yet is that time determined by the mind itself, not taught. The time is set already. It appears to be quite arbitrary. Yet there is no step along the road that anyone takes but by chance. It has already been taken by him, although he has not yet embarked on it. For time but seems to go in one direction. We but undertake a journey that is over. Yet it seems to have a future still unknown to us. Time is a trick, a sleight of hand, a vast illusion in which figures come and go as if by magic. Yet there is a plan behind appearances that does not change. The script is written. When experience will come to end your doubting has been set. For we but see the journey from the point at which it ended, looking back on it, imagining we make it once again; reviewing mentally what has gone by." (W-pI.158.2.8)
Our destiny is first forgiveness and next remembrance of God. What God creates is Changeless, since it is Eternal. And, in Awakening, the Holy Spirit reveals that illusions are one and therefore all appearances are unreal. What is unreal cannot change, for what could a change in unreality mean? What is the same cannot be different or change to something unlike itself. The Holy Spirit's Perspective is the Answer to the illusion of change. There is nothing else to seek or to find.
Remember the Serenity Prayer: The mind CAN change from error to Correction. The world cannot be changed. And the Wisdom to know the difference is the Holy Spirit.
Love & Blessings always,
David
